I could have gone but didn't register early and work is pressing although if I had a ticket it would have changed that. The big job I was to be on pushed back as they always do. Most of the stuff I wanted to be in was at WOC anyway.

Will get in Monday evening and leave Friday morning. Most likely find me wandering around Mannington booth Wednesday or outside the show wandering around the Flamingo- old habits die hard. My badge will read Chuck Milledge but just disregard that - my real name is Commercial Floor Rep. :)

I would have liked WOC tied into Surfaces as well, I'm not going.

I think it should be held in March or April, just to avoid travel delays.

One of the best shows since the recession. People were saying they had more business on the first day, than all last years Surfaces show. I also heard one guy saying he had surpassed estimated orders for the whole show on the first day. I can't wait until next year!!! (start saving now, or you'll miss out)

You had some of the big boy's come back after years of not showing. Seen some nice looking new products. Some new tools that looked cool. The certifications we put on went very well. The two seminars I was one of the speakers at was well attended and went well.
Looked like more people there this year.
    Made some good contacts.
Had some good food at the Wilf party Tues night, Great time and food at the Mannington party Wed night. Yes I did get to eat good with someone paying.

Can someone please explain "Wilf". The interwebs be leading me astray. I'm sure it's not the one I keep coming up with.

Different profession, that convention was a few buildings away at the same time. Hard Rock?

Not so much a "Profession" as a predilection that has probably occurred more than once on the strip....;)

Just getting caught back up since the show. We had a great show. Sold the most in history of our company. I know Mannington had a tremendous show sales wise. That's the busiest I've seen their booth in some years. Not only was the first day foot traffic busy so was the second.

The Mannington party was pretty good - a couple of my dealers were lucky enough to win some of the give aways, which was pretty cool. Had a good spot for the entertainment. Was right next to the stage.

I liked that they finally were able to get everyone on the same floor at the show. I also liked how they did the educational tracks. It was much easier to find everything since it was all in one spot.

On the down side - Vegas has really changed the way they deal with shows. It used to be somewhat affordable to go. Now even the smaller casinos/hotels crank up their prices. In years passed it was pretty common to be able to get a reasonable room for $100 a night. I think our average cost per night was $250 - $300 per night at the Flamingo and that was purchasing over 50 rooms for 3-4 nights. I spent about $18 - $20 per cab ride each way from Flamingo to Mandalay so by the end of the week I had about $150 in cab rides. Vegas just isn't the entertainment value that it used to be. I'm wondering if we might see Surfaces change venues in the next few years to another local.

All-in-all one of the better Surfaces I've attended.

I always try to book early, like 4 months ahead. Its cheaper flying that way and I usually stay at Harrahs or Imperial Palace. Their rooms are $35 a night when I book early. There are some cheaper hotel like Stratosphere I saw when I checked that I might go for a couple of days the week before. Its just more to get into the show by then. Also cheaper to ride the Monorail.
