Shower Pan - Wrong!

Discussion in 'Ceramic and Stone Q&A' started by Mike Antonetti, Apr 24, 2019.

  1. Where do I not see things done right? No preslope, large air gaps around floor to wall area underneath the CPE (chlorinated poly ethylene?) membrane. Nails/screws in membrane and just laying on top.

Just sad on the type of work I see anymore

  3. I'm pretty sure that's a sheetrock screw too. That shower will last long enough for the contractor to cash his check & be over his 1 year warranty before it starts pissing downstairs.

Funny as I just bid a custom shower along with a surround for the guest bath & both bath floors. Total of around 400 sq ft. I came in around $2500 labor.
Guy says he "wants it right" no leaks. Yup, I can do that. Just he doesn't want to pay for it.
He'll end up getting a contractor to do what's in those pictures, I'm sure of it.
