As most of you know, I do not do much carpet. I can. I have the knowledge. The ability. I just work alone, and don't really like regular carpet installs.

But, always wanting to expand my knowledge, I am interested in attending this course.

I have a question. Would you reccomend this for some who does only 4-5 jobs a year, and maybe 8-10 repairs?

3 days off is not an issue. Airfare to Seattle is cheap right now (southwest). Class is free.

If so, what tools should I bring. The pdf. mentions 5-6 hand tools.

I guess this is aimed at Roger and Chris mostly.

i am bringing my koolglide and probably all my seam cutters..mainly one box with some hand tools..they provide stuff like stretchers. i am guessing, that is how it is on a CFI training. i think georgia is 3 day because of a mill tour, i do not know if they have a tour in other areas.... only 2 1/2 hours from me..i might not even get certified..i just want the free training..i am not to much into commercial work..i am going mainly for the pattern training...big thanks to chris mha and roger for giving this info out...not alot of free classes out there and this one looks like the real deal..if you walk away learning one thing then it was worth it.

Barry I think this class will be excellent. Always good to have a refesher class under your belt. I signed up for it about 2 weeks ago for the April 22-23 class in Seattle.

Barry, carpet knife, loop pile cutter, row finders, screww drivers what ever you use to open up a row. If you have a double headed crab that woud be great. They do have some to use but if you get a large class like we had there may not be enough. No need to bring a kool glide. No hot seaming was done. All glued direct related.

What Chris said, plus a tape measure and dry line. You will be squaring a piece of carpet and lining up the patterns.

It is well worth the time and expense, you probably already know most of the stuff but it may be brought back to mind. I am sure you will get a few nuggets of new info too.

When you sign up tell Deborah S. that Chris and I sent ya, she'll get a kick out of it.

Nothing scheduled in the middle of the country. 600-700 miles is too far for me.

Yeah, from a discussion here at THE FLOOR PRO DOT COM. You could even have these printed on card stock and sliced up to give everyone to help them keep their place in the reading material. Or just pass out a few TFP business cards. [IMG]

    Robert,
If they have enough sign up I will be there as well. Right now she only has me and you signed up for that venue. She needs at least 24 she says. She is going to call me when it fills or 3 weeks before the dates so I can book air fare.

    Roger and Chris,

When I mentioned your names, she just giggled and said that "they really seemed to have a good time"

What did you guys do???? ;)

I don't they speak Mark's language. If they offered a course in Smiley Speak, he would probably be the first in line.

    Oh boy Rob!!!!!

Don't go there. I think Mark is a preacher's kid. Ya know, they're the worst. I would be afraid....very afraid.

And I think he is in Oregon. But not for sure.

I think Mark could be just way too much fun!!!!!
Besides he would just show us up.
