This is why I don’t like to hammer nails in, I don’t want to be the cause of water leak. It was away from our work, exterior wall near water heater but ice maker line is over there, bathroom where we removed tile, I went there to see if we had anything to do with it.

Not much water, along interior wall and all on one side of garage.

    I know this game.
2 years ago on January first, you know the start of a new year I was working in a town home. We were replacing a ladies floor due to some defects, I was in there to do the new floor, didn't do the original. Moving along, removing baseboard..... take off this one piece and blammo water is shooting into the back of the closet across the hall. Did I mention it was in some town homes??
well we shut off the unit water, that didn't work so I started making phone calls.... phone calls don't get you far the day after new years eve. I sat with my finger on this bloody pinhole for well over an hour trying to get ahold of someone, a plumber, the developer, superman??

Turns out, the water line was for the sprinklers and well that was controlled from the utility room outside that no one had a key for. EXCELLENT!

start to finish I was over an hour and a half with this bloody thing and thank god we were replacing everything because water was down stairs, up stairs and everywhere in between. Seemed a fitting start to what ended up being a rather shite year so yeah... baseboard is scary

I got a call from a builder about a bath floor in a new home I did. I guess there was a leaky pipe and he tried to blame it on me. I told him I do floors, not plumbing, never heard another word about it.
