My last comment was really about Sean playing video games and trying to keep up with posts here. I just added what I had done on my day off being a Saturday instead of playing video games. :) My KIWI sense of humor :)Which lead to going off topic
I didn't think the bit about being sent to try to repair something needed a topic of its own as certain things are done differently here and make much sense to most people on TFP but maybe it could be a topic of when a layer tries to resolve a problem to keep everybody happy and then gets caught.

I've explained it before, so I won't again. The simple fact is, as in most things in life, the average person (that would be most people) wants instant gratification and doesn't really think about anything beyond that. It tends to make things a little messy. It's my job to clean up the messes. There will always be someone who complains about the housekeeper.
It's just normal conversation to a lot of people. They don't look beyond the message box. They don't understand the differences between email and message board, chatting with friends and company meetings, seminars and a gathering for pizza at Round Table or the jumbled up mess they call their work van and a well organized staging area of a jobsite. You prob'ly have a fairly neat toolbox with a compartment for everything - knives in this section, fasteners over here, marking/scribing/writing instruments in this slot. Others don't have a special place for anything - it all just gets tossed in the box and as long as the lid closes, it's fine.

I can't live that way. It's not that I'm a neat freak either. Part of it is understanding the frustration of finding relevant information among millions of websites and wanting something better for my silent visitors. Another part is all about the money. Although a few members donate occasionally, it's not enough to pay the bills and it's not enough to let them have free reign to post whatever, wherever. So, it becomes important to me to move the BS to a BS topic and let the flooring content be about flooring and the BS be about whatever it is.

Yeah, it's all about the money. My first 35 years in this industry, things were pretty good even when things were pretty bad. I always lived above the poverty level, sometimes way above. I have been well below the poverty level for 5 years now and I have busted my butt to get here. My old job was filled with kudos, tips and many hugs and thanks for good work and only the very rare complaint. This job gets some thanks and a few donations to the cause and way too many regular complaints about how I do my job from a small contingent of chronic malcontents.

Whoa! You shoulda taken that soapbox with you, KW. This is what you get when you leave it unattended on the curb. ;)

I haven't said thanks recently, so .............. thanks for what you have provided for us Jim. Regardless of any of my comments............ I do care.
......and as you guessed, I toss my tools in the box........... otherwise I'd need 350 compartments for em all and that ain't gonna change anytime soon. ;)

I was on xbox but dont have it anymore. I'm getting an onlive console as soon as they ship the dang thing, it's from that new streaming game company. So unfortunately, we can't play anything together.
