Good to know. I had a job the other day that would have been nice to have grinding equipment on so I went back down the rabbit hole. Then I remembered why I sold all my equipment and said F that. I will get paid to float a floor as well as have the patch provided but grinding is going to pay maybe $25/ hr and I’m sure that would be a fight to get. All you need is a hammer and a tape measure to be a contractor here. If you show up, you are a successful contractor. The words ‘dust containment’ are non existent here unless you count granny putting sheets over the furniture and a fan in the window because that’s free.

I had the smaller Bosch vacuums that the cfm was 140. 1-1/2” hose. Attached to tools/auto on. Then they wouldn’t pick up scrapped concrete tack strip nails and it was the last straw. For all prep and debris removal/speed it drastically improved performance.

Whatever it takes Ken. The fine filter bags I used on my ridgid vacs worked well. Never got the opportunity to use dust deputy, but now use pre separators. Helps with larger stuff not getting to vacuum tank, only fine dust gets into tank and it gets about 30% to tank, 70% to separator.

My vac has taken rags (washcloths) I put in my front left pocket to continuously wipe sweat. It disappears. It use to get stuck sometimes at the elbow/deflector inside tank but I’ve modified and Jacks vacuums are modified with 3” inlets. That little 90 degree curve if long stuff gets pulled in it may not make it through. Vacuuming up a countertop I sucked up two pieces of bread in the bag. Instant disappear. I think I told the customer as to not be blamed for making a sandwich.

There are a few used for sale, very rarely I find good deals. 750$ like five years ago, I bought one on Ebay few months ago but retracted it due to not trusting the model #. It was around 1$k and was supposed to ship for 20$. Guy messed up, I rebid when he confirmed and offered 125$ to ship, I think he had a better offer. There are several year model 1250’s with various changes including the old ones that intake goes through motor. The newer ones are called tangential bypass. Valves, pins, circuit boards, they’re all scrambling yearly.

So, if I take about 1500 dollars, I should be able to find a decent used vac someplace?

I would kill for one of those sexy stand vac things that auto bag but that is just outside our operation.

If you’re lucky, or scan/search continuously. I should’ve posted the one I bid on Ebay it was a newer one, the 20% more ? Pulse? Sticker started about a year ago. I got enough.

Iron Planet for one. Some floor equipment goes through there, haven’t seen pulsebac though they’re made in Oklahoma so some should be there.

The 2018 World of Concrete is coming up, not sure if there’s going to new vacs on market with the health risks involved.
