    Hey guys,

I am replacing my 5 year old berber carpet. The carpet has been good but its time for a change. Two adults, a 4 year old and a police dog have wrecked it.

I am about to lose my mind with all the different types of carpet, materials, twists rates, stain resistant brands yada yada yada.

    My goals:
    Great stain resistance
low to no track marks (these drive me effing crazy)
would love for it to last 10-15 years

I would love berber again because of the trackless features of it, but a 2 year old high drive malinois running around my house will not allow this (if you have not heard of this dog google it you'll see what I mean).

Ive been looking at shaw lifeguard frieze called More is better (a) and in the spotlight (a)...nt to be confused with "more is better and in the spotlight." Apparently the (a) ones are a tad more dense and twistier?

Would these be god choices? Any other brand/type I should be looking at? My sanity would appreciate it!

I do have stairs but plan on doing a wool runner on those.

Shaw Lifeguard is a good product. If you like the style I can't think of much negative. You already know that looped carpet with an animal can be a challenge, so a frieze is a good option.

Also, I pretty sure A is fleck, S is solid, and they also make a tonal version of this carpet.

    Gotcha that makes sense.

My eye test showed that the more is better shows less foot prints even though its not as dense. Is this because the thickness is less?
