I've never heard of an 8-inch-wide area rug. That's too funny!

Mike, the ice was dumped in the gravel patio area when I got there..... so I'm betting that her guest soaked it all up. :D
Besides, if offered a glass of $600 wine and a glass of $10 wine, Lo could not determine which was which. :ohno:
I have tasted an out of date Miller Lite in a longneck before............ ooooooooh, some skunky stuff.

The entire home is hardwood or tile. All of the hardwood has a double border of a darker wood around the perimiter. (this home is really NICE)
The entry rug was made to be centered inside of the darker wood borders.
This left a gap at the front door and she was worried that the traffic coming in the front door might damage the edged of this entry runner.

Long story short, she asked me to make a piece to fill in the gap.
The dark line at the top is the front door, and the dark rectangles are the area rug and my "soon to be" area rug.....................

It's pretty tiny, but since it covers an area........... and it's a rug.................... it's an area rug, right? :p

8'' wide area rug sure seems funny, but the client has a need and a purpose
for it, so we'll be glade to provide. As always Lo - nice presentation with
    the smiley face. :D

Relax Lo, you have done some outstanding workmanship there. I think all Tia was saying she has never heard a 8" pc called a area rug. something like that in our area would be called a fill insert or a small runner.

Hee hee, I was just bein' jokster Lo. I didn't know what to call it. :D It's funny how this is going to be in 4 pieces. The pattern on this material is out of square 5/8" in 16 inches, so I have to do some fudging to straighten it up. I'm using the main medallion part of the pattern centered in this fill insert and it's only about 10" tall. If I lined up each piece perfectly, it would be a good 2 1/2" out of whack on an 8 inch pattern section............ not a good ratio.

    Here's the bad part.
The material that I am using for this little fill is a broadloom piece that was leftover from the original entryway rug. ................... I cut that 5 1/2 foot wide remnant material into 17 1/2" strips so I could experiment with pattern matching when it came time to do the other stairway.
..so..... if I hadn't chopped it up into strips, I could have gotten this little "fill insert" in one piece. ........so to quote CP...........:yell::brick::brick:
