I really hated carpet till the other day at TISE I saw some that looked interesting. Didn’t get to look at it but dam, it had style. It was Kane.

Kane is one of the worst pieces of carpet I have ever installed. Extremely hard to work with.

Kane carpet is what got me into the Koolglide years ago. I've used the premium and doublestick tapes with it, haven't had it not stick to any carpet.

In the past I inspected at least 40 Kane Carpet jobs. Mostly it was for mismatched seams. Either it was very difficult to seam properly or we have a ton of inadequate installers around here!

I think it’s just crappy carpet that is hard to work with. They look cool though, so designers like it

Love this tape. Hate that I have to get it from Home Depot though. The closest supply shop to me is an hour away, so one day I took a chance on the PSX-4500, Excellent stuff. It bleeds into the backing well to form a bond, almost like it soaks in without burning too hot, and is very strong.
I haven't come across a backing that it doesn't work well with.

I think most are just not patient enough doing tough carpet. I used Roberts 350 for a while, it was good tape. I have had to re heat a woven carpet job I did with Koolglide recently, no problem to re heat it. I think sunlight might have released it.

Using a hair dryer will release it also if dryer is to close. Found out the hard way, but luckily it was one the edge next to wall.

XK-50 is the tape for me. Everything else sucks and the seams don't hold well with cheap tapes. I also don't mind power hold 250 or 350.
