I am working on a vinyl floor solution for a veterinary hospital.
The present floor is what I believe is IVC's best residential sheet vinyl from around years ago over 1/4" underlayment all over the original sheet vinyl.
The present vinyl is a textured wood visual that is difficult to get clean.
Can we level emboss the existing and go over with Corlon or similar sheet vinyl or should we add another layer of underlayment.
The existing floor seems to be well adhered.

IVC can be easily removed. Don’t lay anything over it as it’s guaranteed to fail due to its cushioned nature.

  3. Up until I worked 10 years ago, IVC floors had a cushion backing on them. It would be wise to remove it. What Kylenelson said.

Even the commercial lines of ivc wouldn’t be wise to lay over. Most commercial vinyl states that it’s not to be layed over existing floor covering

Vet clinics should have epoxy floors anyway.

In a vet clinic it should be heat welded at the seams.

Epoxy floors are best, heat welded vinyl is second best
