THIRTYTHREE wonderful years, three years were part time as I was still in high school.

C'mon you newcomers! It's almost 2012 - nearly 11 months since the last post - and we have had LOTS of new flooring professionals join us here at TFP. Reply to this topic and tell us how long you've been in the flooring business. Add to the already 2,400+ years of experience we have to share here.

Where was I when this started?

I have been at this now for 38 years.

I won't count my part time year of high school or the hung over Saturday mornings during my one year of college.
But I won't discount the 10 months I was unemployed, or working in a greenhouse. I still had a vested interest, even then.

Every year, you need to add one on for each of us and put it onto the total!:yesss:

Heading into the 35th year and the past 20 feel like they flew by way too fast.

I believe that will require "fuzzy" math.

I don't get how +1 = fuzzy, but if you say so! There's probably a program for annual additions to a group total. Isn't there? Oh yeah, you'd probably have to plug in everyone's initial numbers. Ugh. Never mind ... :)

Kudos to you! What a world this flooring business can be ... after my last few days, I'm convinced we need to make a sitcom out of this!

That was a little joke (VERY little) since I'm a carpet guy all my math is "fuzzy".

The older I get, the fuzzier my math gets too. So they say. Not all carpet is fuzzy, so that ain't a very good explanation on the math.

Alright, new tally. I just added up the totals, added what I think are the appropriate number of years to update to the current date and came up with...

2,849 years experience for TFP members.

I also pruned out old, :ot: comments that were older than about a year and Tandy's running tally.

Now see, the thing about fuzzy cheese is that you can cut off a bit past the fuzz and the rest is okay. Not so true with carpet ...
