Bruce Fulton and herringbone layout questions

    You can avoid face nailing if you router a groove, use a loose spline, and "reverse" the direction of that board.
    On another note, be careful when selecting your flooring. If you choose a pre-finished floor with a bevel, you will have to replicate the bevel anywhere you have a cut piece matching up to a factory edge. Not impossible by any means, just time consuming (and a bit of a nuisance) Best wishes on your project!

    Finally getting around to buying the material. Was looking at the Bruce Fulton but I also see what looks to be identical Bruce oak strip for a 1/3 less per sq ft cost. Online I cannot see a difference - the finish has the same warranty. What could the difference be? Fulton is $6.16 /ft while the other Bruce product is $3.99. I don't get it. Thanks.
