Know that we really want to help you. But you have to help us, too, by providing enough details that we can give you the best possible advice as quickly as possible.
    • Tell us what the brand and/or style name you are dealing with. Not all hardwood & laminate flooring is the same.
    • If you don't know the brand/style, tell us as much as you can about the product. Is the hardwood prefinished or unfinished; is it a floating floor, or is it going to be glued, nailed or stapled down?
    • Pictures really are worth... well, maybe not a thousand words, but they help. Use our upload system, it's free and easy to use.
    • Diagrams can be helpful too.
    • We might also need to know about the substrate - the surface you will be installing on. Is it a concrete slab, a bare subfloor, underlayment panels installed on the subfloor and is there old flooring down? Is the floor flat (standard 3/16" in 10')? Have you read the instructions?
Even though we need details, that doesn't mean to give us a wall of text. Be brief, try to spell correctly (especially in brand names, etc.) and please make it easy to read by using punctuation and paragraphs.

Many of our pros have decades of experience. Most are still working full-time careers, so please be considerate of their time and efforts to share their expertise with you. Our goal is to help you make the best decisions for your flooring projects. We need your help to do that as efficiently as possible.

Everything is free here, you don't have to pay for any advice or consultations. But if you would like to help pay the bills and keep TFP operating, your contributions are most welcome, just click HERE to donate any amount.

    Thanks,
