First - Sean, you don't have to bow out! You just couldn't see the good-natured jist of my comment on the computer. ;)

Daris and getoverit - I'm planning to do some testing and am definitely going to try the contact cement.

Lance - if you know there are commercial seam sealers without tracers, for goodness sake, tell me one! Is it possible nothing showed up in your testing because nothing was used?

Everyone else - I've tried all the companies. Well, the ones that I didn't personally try, my sundry sales expert checked for me, even the ones his company does not sell.

    Thanks again,
    Tia

I've already done that and it has tracers in it.

Real latex does not have tracers in it,but it won't hold up to the cleaning that gets done in commercial.

This has become such a huge challenge, but I'm so glad for this community or it would never have even been brought to my attention! Tommy sayd this will give him a good excuse to get himself a flourescent black light for in the garage, haha!

Tia,You make it hard to help by insinuating someone does not know how to do their job.
You use the black light to see if it refects, you can also see it by looking.I am sorry but there was no name written in the sealer.
Call the companys and get answer direct, not from a rep.
Daris,I knew you would say that but something is better than nothing.Besides you would be surprised how many people do not clean their carpets.

Lance I totally agree with you, something is better than nothing. I have checked with all the adhesives companies I know of and have come up empty as far as no tracers.
This carpet company has to be a real LULU {winner} if they can't give a dealer a recomendation on what is compatible with their products.

Have to disagree: used latex on commercial tackless installations for many, many years without problems. The function of the sealer on glue down is accomplished differently though. I agree in not using latex foir a glue down installation.

Unfotunatley, this is not atypical for smaller and niche manufacturers. They do not budget for technical support and too frequently defer to "industry standard", in this case CRI when in fact their product should have more stringent directives. Seems to be another case where it is all about the Benjamins...

I would never insinuate that someone wasn't doing their job. Seeing as we have covered our liability by getting in writing that the manufacturer doesn't have a recommendation, we have made our decision on what to do. Thanks much for all the advice and opinions!! So sorry about the luck of those who install this product and butter the seams too hard and much ... then all the lines GLOW! Ouch!

    Tia :)
