    Took Certifications with the;
    IICRC - Institute of Inspection Cleaning & Restoration Certification

    CRT- Color Repair Technician

    CCT- Carpet Cleaning Technician

    WRT- Water Damage Restoration Technician

    Did not take the 2 day course for;
    RRT- Carpet Repair & Re-installation Technician (for obvious reasons).

    I don't believe a certification for a 2 day course gives you the experience to be qualified or be an expert as a Carpet Repair Specialist of as a Carpet Installer.
    This is what the IICRC is promoting to carpet cleaners.

    So my brief opinion; I'm qualified, not certified! :)

    I started an apprenticeship in 1977 with a Hungarian father and son team where we worked with expensive carpet and doing mostly small installs and with lots of seams since a 30 x13 room back in the day would have perhaps a 5x12 piece of carpet to make the 1 foot seam and you can imagine all the T-joins. We focused on invisible seaming and perfect cuts for the tackstrips in the corners etc. Our work was very detailed. After one year (being the third wheel) in the slow winter time, there was very little work and so I responded to an ad in the local newspaper "CARPET REPAIR PERSON NEEDED".
    I showed up in person being only just over 18 years old and the old gentleman said to me "we're looking
