I don't seal seams any other way. The glue gun is the way to go. No wait time to dry. I have the Orcon glue gun. It is fitted with the necessary tip.

That is red rosin paper and it is not a good felt paper to use. Rosin paper will actually attract moisture. Roofing felt will repel it.
